LifeQuest Adventure Program

The LifeQuest Adventure Program is an adventure-based learning model that is main stream, evidence-based, effective, and widely utilized. This is because the adventure-based model supports a synergistic effect with combined body and mind learning and provides opportunities outside the typical range of human experience. Generally, adventure-based learning models use outdoor environments to facilitate individual experiences as catalysts for change; this often results in short-lived benefits from the experience. The LQT model differs by addressing the need for a systematic approach beyond the event, combining the adventure experiences with on-going physical and motivational coaching and helping the soldier apply that which they experience during the program to practical situations in their own lives. Each Wounded Warrior who participates in the LifeQuest Adventure Program receives an extensive program combining events, on-going training, equipment, and other support. This is all at no cost to the soldier participant. Below is the outline of the various program elements the LifeQuest provides.

  • Full personal assessment of fitness, motivation, and lifestyle
  • Individualized strength and conditioning program considering their disability and adaptability
  • Lifestyle coaching – (smoking cessation support, using a day planner, athletic/diet journaling)
  • Motivational skill development
  • Sport specific skill instruction – climbing, kayaking, cycling, etc
  • Squad training (4-6 team mates) 2x/week
  • Nutritional Counseling – (meal plans, how to eat out, etc)
  • 2 Adventure Race Camps events per month
  • Web-based social network is being developed for soldiers currently in the program and those graduated—enabling individuals to stay in touch with their community of team members and coaches

This program consists of over 50 hours of programming per month  for warriors during their 120 day enrollment. Soon we hope to offer a web based social network that will effectively keep the soldier connected to the program allowing them the opportunity to stay involved, be made aware of opportunities to participate, take advantage of education and career opportunities, and be mentors to fellow Wounded Warriors for as long as the need remains.

RTD ( Return to Duty)

As a soldier in the military, you have invested a lot of time, effort, and training in your career. Your experience and abilities are valuable to your unit and this nation. If you have been injured or have become deconditioned for any reason, that investment might be at risk. That is why we feel particularly honored to be able to offer a program especially for the return to duty soldier. The Life Quest RTD program is specially designed around you to help you reach your physical and mental potential in a fast!

As a participant, you will be assessed on your functional movement and physical abilities required of you. Then, working one-on-one, we will help you set goals and outline a path to get you there. Small groups of 4-8 individuals will then train together using cutting edge training techniques, functional tools, and a variety of sport skills to teach your body to move optimally and with more speed, power, and agility. You will learn motivational skills, nutrition, and techniques to be able to make these changes last a lifetime. End result, in a short time, you will reach your goals and secure your future as a proficient soldier who will be able to serve to his/her highest physical ability and know how to maintain that new high level of performance for your country and your family.

Military PT

Physical Training when you are injured or deconditioned can be difficult. The Life Quest PT program is designed to be a fun and highly effective alternative. Life Quest trainers work with you in teams of 6-8 in a highly energetic and adaptive environment. They can adapt any exercise to be pain free and accommodate your profile. We use exciting and effective training methods and modalities commonly seen in the training of top athletes in sports such as professional football, mixed martial arts, and Special Forces. As you learn how to adapt your exercise to your body's needs, you will be able to take control and experience a level of freedom and performance you may not have felt were possible again. Along the way, you will learn how to simply enhance your nutrition and how to envision goals and how you can accomplish anything!
